FOOD LAB

Welcome to the Washington State University (WSU) Food Lab. We are part of WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine located at the WSU Spokane campus. Our research focuses on human nutrition and health-related outcomes. We are interested in understanding the effects of eating frequency and a variety of food components on physiological processes, markers of health and disease risk, appetite and satiety, sensory evaluations, and food-related behavior.

The Food Lab facilities are used to conduct feeding studies and clinical trials in human volunteers, for collaborative projects led by researchers in the areas of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology, Crop & Soil Sciences, Biological Systems Engineering, and others. As vital members of the Food Lab, undergraduate and graduate students gain valuable experience in conducting human nutrition trials as part of their dissertation work and for course credit.
