Welcome to the Hopkins Honey Bee Lab at Washington State University

The Hopkins lab is one part of the WSU Bee Program. Our lab studies how beekeeping management practices, honey bee health, and environmental factors are all interconnected. We work closely with beekeepers, growers, and industry representatives toward improved colony survival and crop pollination throughout the west coast of the United States. Through collaboration with other labs in the WSU Entomology department as well as research and industry partners worldwide, we are training the next generation of honey bee researchers through basic and applied methods, and outfitting them with the tools needed to contribute to honey bee sustainability across a wide variety of employment avenues.
