About Iis Tussyadiah

I joined the Carson College of Business at WSUV in the Fall of 2013. I received my PhD in Information Science (with a concentration in Human-Social Information Science) from Tohoku University, Japan (東北大学), under the supervision of Professors Hisa Morisugi and Tatsuhito Kono, supported by the Japanese Government through Monbukagakusho/MEXT Scholarship Program. My Master’s degree is in Industrial Engineering & Management (with a concentration in Engineering Economics) from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia (Institut Teknologi Bandung). I currently serve as Vice President of the International Federation for Information Technology and Travel & Tourism (IFITT), an international network of researchers, destination managers, and industry professionals in the area of travel technology.

Research

My research interests lie in the intersection of digital technology and tourism experiences, which include a broad topic within travel and tourism, human-computer interaction, consumer behavior, and mobility. I investigate the roles of information and communication technology (ICT) and digital media in shaping and transforming tourist experiences and behavior as well as informing best practices for destination marketing and management. Please review my most recent publications below. Find me in Google ScholarResearchGate, and Academia.edu.
