About the MAC lab

Read tablet outline with words WSU MAC LABWelcome to our lab page! We’re the Media, Adolescents and Cannabis Research Group. Over the last five plus years, the MAC lab has been conducting research to examine adolescents’ and young adults’ media exposure and attitudes, intentions, and behaviors related to cannabis. Here you can find information about our team, our current and past projects, publications, and more.

Dr. Stacey Hust and Dr. Jessica Willoughby began conducting research together to examine the connections between adolescents, cannabis, and media in 2016. Since then, they have expanded that work to form the Media, Adolescents and Cannabis Research Group. Together Dr. Hust and Dr. Willoughby have received both internal and external funding to support their work, which includes the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods to examine the impact of portrayals of cannabis use in media on adolescents and young adults. Past projects have included surveys, interviews, focus groups, and experiments. Find about more about our past research and our ongoing projects.
