About me

I am a PhD student in the Materials Science and Engineering program at Washington State University. In my research I am applying first-principles electronic structure theory methods to predict, and improve, the properties of materials. My thesis research is focused on the properties and behavior of different phases of technetium oxide, which is a significant component in nuclear waste. The goal of this research is to improve understanding of the local atomic structure and the volatilization mechanisms of Tc in glass, and the kinetics of crystallization. In my spare time, I enjoy playing basketball and traveling with my family.
