About me

My name is Joey Kabel, I am an undergraduate senior majoring in materials science and engineering at Washington State University. I am currently involved in Dr. John McCloy’s glass laboratory investigating the crystallization, corrosion resistance and stability of eucryptite/spodumene phases in lithium infused nepheline (Li2O-Na2O-Al2O3-SiO2) glass systems for nuclear waste storage. My interests revolve around materials in extreme environments with specific curiosity for material development in nuclear thermal propulsion and other advanced in-space propulsion systems. I also like snowboarding.
