He received the M.Sc. degree from the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, MB, Canada, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, both in electrical engineering, in 2007 and 2011.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">He is currently an Assistant Professor at Washington State University, Pullman, WA, USA. He was a Visiting Professor at Graz University of Technology, Graz, Austria, in Nov. 2014. His areas of interest include power system applications of power electronics and integration of renewable energy resources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Mehrizi-Sani is an editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery. He is the chair of IEEE Task Force on Dynamic System Equivalents and a contributing member of several other IEEE task forces, including Task Force on Microgrid Controls, Task Force on Dynamic Average Modeling, and Task Force on Interfacing Techniques for Simulation Tools. He is the Secretary of the CIGRE Working Group C4.34 on Application of PMUs for Monitoring Power System Dynamic Performance. He is a recipient of the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2011. He was a Connaught Scholar at the University of Toronto. I am a member of Energy Systems Innovation Center at School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at WSU. I received my M.Sc and B.Sc degree from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Isfahan, Iran in 2009 and 2012, respectively, all in Electrical Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a name=\"Younes\"><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/ysangsefidi\/\" target=\"_blank\">Younes Sangsefidi<\/a>;\u00a0 Ph.D.; started Aug. 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/wp-labs\/uploads\/sites\/541\/2015\/01\/DSC01329.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/wp-labs\/uploads\/sites\/541\/2015\/01\/DSC01329-198x198.jpg\" alt=\"???????????????????????????????\" width=\"198\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I am Younes Sangsefidi. I grew up in Karaj, Alborz, Iran and I lived in Shahriayar, Tehran, Iran after being 10 years old.\u00a0During high school, my most enjoyable activity was studying books in the area of mathematics and physics; this interest persuaded me to study the basics of electrical engineering and perform some workshop activities during high school.\u00a0I received my B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from IUST, Tehran, Iran in 2009. Being interested in power electronics encouraged me to continue my studies in \u201cpower electronics and electric machines\u201d in IUST,\u00a0and I received my M.Sc. degree in 2012.\u00a0I have joined\u00a0Energy Systems Innovation Center at\u00a0Washington State University, Pullman, WA, in August 2013. Again, I work in the area of power electronics, but currently in the field of its power system applications. I am so interested in this field, and I have sweet experiences under supervision of Dr. Mehrizi-Sani\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">My hobbies are exercising (biking and playing Football and Basketball), reading books, listening traditional music, and (up to 2013) constructing different converters based on my father\u2019s orders!<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"Saleh\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/salehziaeinejad\" target=\"_blank\">Saleh Ziaeinejad<\/a>; Ph.D.; started Aug. 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/wp-labs\/uploads\/sites\/541\/2015\/01\/a.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/wp-labs\/uploads\/sites\/541\/2015\/01\/a-198x198.jpg\" alt=\"a\" width=\"198\" height=\"198\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I joined \u201cIran University of Science\u00a0and\u00a0Technology\u201d in 2005\u00a0and\u00a0graduated in 2009 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in electrical engineering (Power). Since after that, I continued my studies in the same university as a graduate student. I received my M.Sc. degree in \u201cPower Electronics\u00a0and\u00a0Electrical Machines\u201d in 2012.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I joined Dr. Mehrizi-Sani\u2019s research group in fall 2013. I was first involved in a project about a fuel cell-based auxiliary power system. I am now working on the control of grid-connected power electronic converters. About my research interests: I am interested in power electronic converters, applications of power electronics in power systems, electric vehicles,\u00a0and\u00a0motor drives. In my opinion, the most joyful part of the research is to do the experiments to verify the theories. I am happy that I have a good opportunity to do this in\u00a0LIPE.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">About my hobbies: I like biking, playing soccer\u00a0and\u00a0volleyball. I was born and raised in Tabriz, Iran. I received my M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering- Controls from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in February 2013. The focus of my M.Sc. research was on Modeling, Control, and Optimization of Hybrid Systems with applications in Cyber-physical Systems and Wireless Sensor Networks. The title of my master thesis is &#8220;Data Traffic Optimization of Wireless Sensor Networks with Energy Constraints Using Petri Nets&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">I joined Washington State University in August 2014, where I am pursuing my PhD degree in the Electrical Engineering at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and under the direction of Dr. Ali Mehrizi-Sani. My research interests are\u00a0integration of renewable electric energy sources into the power system and power system application of power electronics.
