Dear Washington State University Vancouver Alumni,
This year marks the Department of Art’s 30th Annual Student Art Exhibition. To commemorate three decades of creativity, innovation, and artistic expression, we’d like to catch up with former students and exhibit their work alongside that of our current students. As a student who has taken an art class at WSU Vancouver, you are an alum of the art program, even if you did not minor or major in art. There are two ways to take part: being part of our Alumni Showcase or exhibiting a work of art in the 30th Annual Student Art Show. Or you can do both!
Alumni Showcase
As an art student, you helped shape the program and its legacy. Now we’d like to share with the community how the experience of taking art classes helped shape you.
• Email a high-resolution photo of yourself showing what you are doing in life, now. (jpeg, approx. 3000 pixels on the longest side. Avoid selfies!)
• Include a few lines that explain what you are doing now and how art and art classes helped shape your thinking. The “art” here could be any obvious form of creation: a drawing, a garment, graphic design, a painting, a cake, a garden. It could also be a less obvious application of creative thinking, such as planning, problem solving, hand-eye coordination, attention to details, heightened power of observation, etc.

30th Annual Student Art Show
In addition to being part of the Alumni Showcase, you are invited to submit a piece of art to be considered for this year’s student show.
• Email a jpeg image of the art you’d like to submit. Both 2D and 3D art are welcome. We have some pedestals available for sculpture.
• Include in the email details about the work: Title, dimensions, materials, and the year it was made. If your work is selected, the Art Gallery Committee will notify you by March 10.
• Pieces may be unframed but must be ready to hang.
• Submit photos of work to a.bawa@wsu.edu by March 1, 2026.
• Notification by March 10, 2026
• Deliver (or ship) art to VMMC 107 by Friday April 3, 2026
We look forward to hearing from you. Stay tuned for information on the opening of the show! For further information, email: a.bawa@wsu.edu
