Food Security and Food Assistance in the Wake of COVID-19
shawna.beeseOur initial research brief was just released and shared with state legislators and local agency stakeholders. The brief features a timely snapshot of the Washington State (WA) food environment as food assistance post-COVID policy is being settled. It has been an honor to collaborate with the team from the University of Washington (UW), School of Public Health on their fourth wave of the WA Food Security Survey.
NIH All of Us (AoU) Research Program Presentation

This presentation was part of the deliverables for our “Antecedents to Geographic Disparities in Mental Health Care Access among Participants Enrolled in the National Institutes of Health All of Us Research Program.” Janessa M. Washington State Public Health Association Conference
shawna.beeseAt the Washington State Public Health Association (WSPHA) 2022 conference, a few of us from the Spokane Food Policy Council (SFPC) team presented, Addressing Health Equity with the 2022 Spokane Regional Food Action Plan. For 45 minutes, we offered a packed room of 42 people a) overview three-year process of action plan development, b) a presentation of the SFPC’s four strategic priorities, and c) progress on our legislative engagement.

Graves and I presented a poster on Allostatic Load Measurement: systematic review of reviews, database inventory, and neighborhood considerations at the Western Institute of Nursing (WIN) annual conference. In this poster we present the preliminary findings of our systematic review of reviews.
