We have utilized additive manufacturing (AM) to imitate naturally occurring structural materials and processes differently. Among others, we have introduced a customizable single-step approach for additively fabricating geometrically-free metallic-based structural metal-ceramic composites showing directionally-tailored, location-specific properties based on commercial directed energy deposition (DED) technique.<\/p>\n<p><b>Related selected publications<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>D.
