Hydroxyapatite is commonly used as a bioceramic coating material, and can be used as the base for localized dopant and drug delivery. Dopants within the coating and drugs loaded post coating, can further enhance osteoconductivity, osteoinductivity, antibacterial efficacy, and other beneficial therapeutics. Our work demonstrates optimized plasma spray and coating material modifications for improved bone healing.
