Cognitive Motor Neuroscience Laboratory Kinesiology @ Washington State University

Join us!

Graduate Students

We are currently accepting graduate students through the Kinesiology M.S. program and the interdisciplinary Prevention Science Ph.D. program for Fall 2024. If you are interested in either program, please contact Dr. Prashad (s.prashad@wsu.edu) before applying for more information and/or to discuss which program would be more appropriate for you. Please include a brief description of your background, research interests, and career goals in your email.

Undergraduate Research Assistants

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic undergraduate research assistants! Students can receive course credit for their participation through Kinesiology’s practicum (KINES 390), internship (KINES 485), or independent study (KINES 499). However, being a Kinesiology major is not a requirement for participation in our lab. We consider students at all levels, and we encourage students in their second (or even first!) year in all programs and majors to apply. Students will engage in a variety of research-related tasks, such as collecting data from participants (behavioral, cognitive, and EEG data), analyzing data, reading, reviewing, and critically assessing primary literature, learning programming, and participating in professional development opportunities. Students will have opportunities to demonstrate independence, take on leadership roles in ongoing projects, and/or propose and design new research projects.

Graduate and undergraduate students will:

  1. Learn how we assess cognition, motor performance and learning, clinical symptoms, and brain activity in typical, aging, and different populations.
  2. Learn the exciting brain imaging technique of EEG.
  3. Produce knowledge!

If you are a current WSU undergraduate student and interested in becoming a research assistant in the CogMo lab, please complete an application at: CogMo Lab RA Application
