Motor learning

Motor learning is essential for performing complex motor behaviors that underlie activities of daily living (e.g., driving, brushing our teeth) as well as activities that bring joy and meaning to our lives (e.g., playing an instrument or sport). We examine cognitive and motor processes underlying motor learning and how they are affected by aging, cannabis use, and movement disorders.

We are interested in whether cannabis use affects brain activity leading to changes in cognition and motor behavior.


The COVID GAP: Gendered impact of COVID-19 on research productivity

We are part of an international and interdisciplinary collaboration examining the impact of COVID-19 on research productivity in women and non-binary academics. We formed this research group in response to multiple reports of the disproportionate gendered impact of COVID-19 on research productivity (e.g., Myers et al., 2020) that has exacerbated gender inequity.
