Department of Psychology Cognition and Memory Lab

Currently, my research interests cover several areas.  My main research focus is on prospective memory (PM), or remembering to perform intentions, and so several ongoing projects and planned projects are on this topic. For example, one recent project includes studies that look at motivation (e.g., primed goals) and PM.  I am also planning a project that examines PM in children. This will include studies on strategies that children use to help them remember to do things already as well studies of the effectiveness of adult memory strategies in children. I am also interested in a lifespan development approach to PM and so I plan to do more studies on PM and aging, also. Finally, I am intrigued by ways to improve memory—both PM and memory for past information, and so I plan to investigate this in different age groups.
