They will also build community as they work to build and maintain the ecological and social sustainability of the garden space. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-column  wsu-color-background--gray-0\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<p>Thank you to all who have applied for a plot. History of the Campus Gardens at WSU Vancouver <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020 at the start of the pandemic, in the wake of disruptions to the corporate food supply, food spoilage and food dumping, CSEJ researchers launched the Food System Justice Action Research Project (FSJAR) to study root causes of \u2013 and formulate solutions to \u2013 hunger on campus and in the broader SW Washington community.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023, with strong student support, and the support of WSU Vancouver&#8217;s Native American Community Advisory Board (NACAB), Native American Programs and the Collective for Social and Environmental Justice collaborated to launch a new campus Indigenous Traditional Ecological Cultural Knowledge (ITECK) Garden and Student Community Garden, with a groundbreaking celebration making front page news in <em>The Columbian<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\r\n\n\n<div class=\"wsu-column  wsu-border--add-right wsu-border--color-crimson wsu-color-background--gray-0\"  style=\"\">\r\n\t\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Food System Justice Action Research Project (FSJAR) and the gardens are emerging as powerful new sites of community formation on campus and are helping to grow a culture in which \u201cEverybody Eats,\u201d and no one has to go through university hungry.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image
