Satellite Data

Google has released a product they call Earth Engine. Essentially, Google is allowing researchers to use their servers for computationally intensive environmental research. Sourcing data is easy because most publicly available data is already stored on the Earth Engine servers. We use Earth Engine whenever we can and have experience using this service for calculating the surface area of water bodies, calculating NDVI, finding precipitation over a specified space and time, finding temperatures over space and time, determining atmospheric pressure, finding vapor pressure (for applications like potential evapotranspiration), and delineating watersheds. We are always happy to help others that might require our expertise with this type of data analysis.
