Goldberg Lab Spatial Ecology and Conservation Genetics

Interested in joining the lab?

The Goldberg Lab consists of both MS and PhD students interested in applying genetic and spatial techniques to conservation and management questions. All students are involved in both field and lab work and are funded on TA or RAship. Most years I am able to except one student. PhD students are only considered if they have completed a thesis-based MS degree.

Students generally have 2-3 years of field experience before joining the lab and learn lab techniques here. But I am interested in students with a diversity of backgrounds and experiences. A passion for scientific work to inform conservation, high level of organization and attention to detail, and willingness to consistently work hard throughout the process are required. Most students in the lab are funded at least in part through TAships, which are competitive based on grades and previous experience. To be eligible, applications must be received by the graduate school deadline in early January for the following fall.

If you are interested in joining the lab, please send me an email telling me about your interests and goals and attach your resume including GPA and GRE percentiles (if available – these are no longer required). Members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for additional funding through the university, especially at the PhD level. If you are interested in this option please let me know in your email.
