Riley Reed

Riley Reed (he/him/his)

Riley has been chasing insects since he learned to walk, but honey bees are by far his favorite species. He got his first beehive in high school, then joined the WSU bee program as a technical assistant in 2018. While working in the bee program he also earned his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Biotechnology. Now he is pursuing a Ph.D. in the Hopkins lab at Washington State University. His current research focuses on the development of several tools to help beekeepers track colony health and make informed management decisions. After earning his degree, he plans to continue studying honey bees and working on projects to help beekeepers. When Riley is not working bees, you can find him fishing on the beautiful Snake River.
