{"id":174,"date":"2024-03-06T17:29:34","date_gmt":"2024-03-07T01:29:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/labs.wsu.edu\/international-journalism-lab\/?page_id=174"},"modified":"2024-06-12T07:59:06","modified_gmt":"2024-06-12T14:59:06","slug":"current-partnerships","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/labs.wsu.edu\/international-journalism-lab\/current-partnerships\/","title":{"rendered":"Current Partnerships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Center for Excellence in Journalism, Armenia.<\/strong> Murrow is partnered with the American University in Armenia (AUA) on a total of <strong>$2.3 million in U.S. State Department grants<\/strong> to create a graduate journalism degree and accompanying training center for working journalists at AUA. The project launched in the fall of 2023. It is modeled on Pakistan\u2019s U.S. funded Center for Excellence in Journalism, which involved the country\u2019s first professionally focused journalism Master\u2019s degree, designed by Dr. Pintak, who served as advisor to the U.S. State Department on the project, which was implemented by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Murrow will design the new AUA journalism curriculum in collaboration with the AUA team, advise AUA\u2019s leadership on the program\u2019s structure and staffing, and help train instructors. Murrow faculty will visit AUA for guest lectures and to lead short seminars for working journalists, Murrow will host AUA journalism faculty, organize U.S. media industry internships for AUA students, and be involved in the program in a variety of other ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>University of Novi Sad (UNS)<\/strong>, Serbia. Murrow is in the second year of a partnership with the journalism program at UNS designed to bolster the school\u2019s ability to provide a quality journalism education, made possible through <strong>$230,000 in grants<\/strong> from the U.S. Embassy, Belgrade. The project includes a joint course, \u201cInternational Journalism in the Age of Misinformation,\u201d led by Dr. Pintak and a UNS faculty member and including students from both schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other elements include research training for UNS faculty, carried out by several members of the WSU faculty; lectures by visiting Murrow faculty; a visit to Pullman by UNS faculty; and a series of joint research projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project Pipeline: <\/strong>Proposals are pending for new partnerships in the Balkans, South Asia, and three African countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Center for Excellence in Journalism, Armenia.
