His background spans computational materials science, including ab initio molecular dynamics, DFT, and machine-learned interatomic potentials. Dr. Islam&#8217;s previous work examined ion transport and coordination chemistry in molten uranium chloride salts as well as defect-driven mechanical behavior in rare-earth oxides.
