{"id":223,"date":"2020-12-18T13:39:29","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T21:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/labs.wsu.edu\/katz\/?p=223"},"modified":"2020-12-18T13:39:29","modified_gmt":"2020-12-18T21:39:29","slug":"new-paper-on-mar-modelling-with-eric-dexter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labs.wsu.edu\/katz\/2020\/12\/18\/new-paper-on-mar-modelling-with-eric-dexter\/","title":{"rendered":"New Paper on MAR modelling with Eric Dexter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eric Dexter, a recent PhD graduate from Washington State University&#8217;s School of the Environment with Dr.s Stephen Bollens and Gretchen Rollwagen-Bollens, has published a new paper on invasive <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.plos.org\/plosone\/article?id=10.1371\/journal.pone.0243002\">plankton in the Columbia River in the journal PLoS ONE.\u00a0<\/a> These authors collaborated with Dr.s Stephen Katz and Stephanie Hampton, and the study includes an evaluation of the population-level effects of introduction of invasive species into the Columbia River zooplankton community using Multivariate Auto-Regressive (MAR) time series modelling techniques.\u00a0 Among the findings were that local plankton communities can indeed be negatively impacted by the introduction of invasives such as the copepod, <em>Pseudodiaptomus forbesi<\/em>.
