About me

My name is Hua Chen and I am from China. I work at Inner Mongolia University of Science & Technology as an associate professor. Since 2010, I have been engaged in research on the influence of rare earth elements on glass-ceramics by using waste materials such as tailings, fly ash, blast furnace slag, chromium oxide slag, etc. I received my PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Inner Mongolia University of Technology in 2016. After graduation, I realized that I needed to broaden my horizons and improve my scientific attainment. So I began my studies at Washington State University in 2018 as a visiting scholar in the NOME Materials Laboratory. My current research is focused on the role of rare-earth ion size in rare-earth containing crystalline phases in nuclear waste glass-ceramics. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my daughter and traveling with my family.
