Nick Stone-Weiss

About me

Nick is a postdoctoral researcher with an undergraduate degree in Physics from Juniata College and a doctoral degree in Materials Science & Engineering from Rutgers University. His thesis research focused on understanding the aqueous corrosion behavior of multicomponent oxide glasses, with a particular emphasis on their application in biomaterials and glasses for nuclear waste remediation. Some of his interests involve studying and evaluating structure-property relationships of materials for novel applications and investigating the impact that processing parameters have upon material performance. He is currently involved with research aiming to immobilize radioactive iodine from spent nuclear fuel in glass or ceramic waste forms. A few of his hobbies include traveling, soccer, basketball, biking, exploring nature, and trying new foods.
