Beam Deceleration mode improves signal to noise and resolution with accelerating voltage as low as 10 V. The IT800 also comes with a sample transfer cell to transfer sensitive samples between the SEM and a glovebox without exposing to atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basic specification:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Magnification range: 10 \u2013 2,000,000 X<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acceleration voltage: 0.01 to 30 kV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Probe current: ~1 pA to 300 nA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Secondary electron imaging resolution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7 nm at 20 kV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3 nm at 1 kV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BSE resolution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5 nm at 30 kV<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IT800 is equipped with a number of different detectors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Secondary (SE) and backscatter (BSE) detectors, including upper electron detector (UED) for improved topological and compositional contrast<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transmission Electron Detector (TED) allows bright field transmission imaging on standard 3mm TEM grids<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) \u2013 EDAX Octane Elect Super, 70mm<sup>2<\/sup> detector with Si<sub>3<\/sub>N<sub>4<\/sub> window, 127 eV resolution, detection range from Al L (73 eV) to Am, &gt;500k counts\/sec<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) \u2013 EDAX Velocity Pro, up to 2000 points\/sec, orientation precision &lt; 0.1\u00b0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cathodoluminescence (CL) \u2013 Deben Centaurus, panchromatic scintillator BSE\/CL detector, detection range 400-1200 nm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:1.1rem\"><strong>\u2190 Back to <a href=\"https:\/\/labs.wsu.edu\/mccloy\/characterization\/\">Characterization equipment<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:45%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wpcdn.web.wsu.edu\/wp-labs\/uploads\/sites\/99\/2025\/03\/JSM-IT800HL-396x396.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JEOL JSM-IT800HL Scanning Electron Microscope The JEOL IT800 is a Field Emission SEM with a Hybrid Lens which allows imaging of nonconductive or magnetic samples, without the need for a conductive coating, as well as high depth of focus imaging.
