Of particular interest is the motivation and interaction of individuals and their effect on the political process.<\/p>\n<p>Projects currently in process include:<\/p>\n<p>The Treatment of Others Project\u2019s focus is on issues of political discrimination. It looks at how often political discrimination happens, why, what types are socially acceptable and how to move from political discrimination to collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>The Legislative Service Project\u2019s focus is to improve the current Washington State legislative process and better prepare the next generation of leaders for public service. The Legislative Service Project\u2019s area of emphasis includes:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Improve the recruitment and preparation of students serving legislative internships<br \/>\n\u2022 Increase civic engagement in the legislative process<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide perspectives of the legislative process from current and past legislators<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide insight into changes which have affected the legislative process<br \/>\n\u2022 Improve understanding of bipartisanship from the media, lobbyist, student intern, staff and legislator\u2019s\u00a0perspective<br \/>\n\u2022 Improve legislative civility in Washington State<br \/>\n\u2022 Better prepare future student interns, staff and legislators<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"column two \"><\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Welcome to the Political Interaction Lab<\/p>\n<p>The Political Interaction Lab focuses on the political engagement of individuals.
