She received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 2020 and her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2012. Dr. Meidenbauer worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chicago\u2019s Environmental Neuroscience Lab before joining WSU. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Portland State University in 2021. Before joining WSU, she worked as a post-baccalaureate researcher at both PSU and the Department of Veterans Affairs, focusing on wellness, interpersonal relationships, substance use, and suicide interventions among military and veteran populations.&nbsp;Her research interests include exploring how environmental factors, such as extreme weather and natural settings, as well as individual differences (personality traits), impact mental health and emotional well-being.&nbsp;Tiara is an avid environmentalist, hot springs enthusiast, and landscape painter, preferring to spend as much of her free time exploring places outdoors. Her academic journey includes Master\u2019s degrees in Cognitive Sciences from the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia (2023) and Clinical Psychology from Azad University of Isfahan, Iran (2019), alongside a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology. This diverse background informs her research interests, which focus on the influence of environmental factors on human cognition, physiology, and psychology. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from DePaul University in 2017, and M.S. in User-Centered Design from Brandeis University in 2025. Before joining WSU, he also worked as a research assistant in neuroscience labs at WashU in St. Louis and University of California, Davis. His research interests are in the impact of heat on cognition, decision-making, and affect, especially in understanding these impacts using neuroimaging methods. She is currently pursuing her Ed.S. in School Psychology at Eastern Washington University while working as a paraeducator in her hometown of Spokane Valley, WA. She has contributed to the presentation of projects as well as authorship on a number of the lab\u2019s manuscripts, and continues to work on projects remotely after leaving Pullman. She LOVES research and wants to continue conducting, publishing, and presenting research within the academic community. She is currently working full time as a Behavioral Interventionist Technician in Moscow, ID, where she is gaining supervised experience toward becoming a Specialist. In addition, she continues to support her research lab remotely, contributing wherever she can. Kathrine is in the process of applying to Fall 2026 Ph.D. programs in Experimental and Clinical Psychology, both in-state and in neighboring regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her undergraduate involvement in the lab sparked a deep passion for research, which she hopes to carry forward throughout her career. Kathrine aspires to make a meaningful impact\u2014whether through advancing scientific understanding or providing compassionate support to adults and children alike. Originally from Snohomish, WA, she enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, snowboarding, and motorcycling. Zaza is involved in several psychology research labs on the Pullman campus and plans to pursue post-baccalaureate research after graduation before applying to graduate school. She has two cats, loves traveling and honestly, noticing pieces of environmental psychology in each place she visits! After graduation, she plans&nbsp;on&nbsp;pursuing&nbsp;her PhD in Quantitative or Cognitive Psychology, focusing her research on decision making and&nbsp;the cognitive&nbsp;reserve. After school, she hopes to stay in academia working as a researcher and undergraduate professor. Larissa is currently involved with several research labs and teaching assistant positions within the Psychology department and currently works as a Lead Tutor for the Academic Career and Success Center (ASCC) at WSU. Beyond his RBF and deep-seated frown, Wynn approaches life enthusiastically and with an excitement like no other. This sweet boy is smitten for belly rubs and his share of your dinner (bonus points if it\u2019s taco bell). This is where her plan kicks in, she will attack your hand with no mercy, and lead you, with her fluffy tail in the air, to her treat drawer, where you are expected to pay for disturbing her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coco is the scaredy-cat, who loves affection, as long as it is under his terms. He is always on full alert, and while meowing and head butting for ear scratches and love, he will simultaneously be ready for any signs of you getting close enough to pick him up, as that is unacceptable. If he is in an especially good mood, he loves to cuddle up with a blanket, and if he is in an even better mood.. He may use the blanket as his bathroom, his one fault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pinkey is our bully and the baby, with that, she loves to tease her older siblings, especially Ginger, who does not take it lightly, but is left defenseless. Her favorite plan of attack is to wait until Ginger is laying on the bottom step, and being much larger than her\u2026 jump on top of her, with her white fur completely covering any sight of Ginger being there.
