The SEED Research Group (Sustainable Engineering and Ecological Design) has launched at Washington State University Tri-Cities, led by Dr. Tapajyoti Ghosh in the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering and the Institute for Northwest Energy Futures (INEF).

The group builds coupled, multiscale models of energy and industrial systems spanning the unit process, the supply and value chain, the regional economy, and policy, and formulates life-cycle, economic, and ecological performance inside process and systems optimization, so that design and consequence are evaluated together.

SEED is now recruiting PhD and MS students and welcomes undergraduate researchers with interests in process systems engineering, optimization, industrial ecology, and AI. To learn more about the group’s directions or to get in touch, see the links below.
