{"id":224,"date":"2016-07-29T22:30:08","date_gmt":"2016-07-30T05:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/labs.wsu.edu\/tanaka-lab\/?p=224"},"modified":"2023-08-08T15:47:52","modified_gmt":"2023-08-08T22:47:52","slug":"july-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/labs.wsu.edu\/tanaka-lab\/2016\/07\/29\/july-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Daniella Echeagaray completed her internship with the Upward Bound Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>July 1-29, 2016<\/strong> \u2013 Daniella Echeagaray (<a href=\"http:\/\/mlhs.moseslakeschools.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Moses Lake high school<\/a>\u00a0student) joined in our lab, and then successfully completed her internship with the Upward Bound Program.\u00a0This program is an innovative STEM educational outreach program &#8220;Pumping Up the Math and Science Pipeline: Grade School to College&#8221; organized by Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ars.usda.gov\/pacific-west-area\/pullman-wa\/whgq\/people\/david-m-weller\/\">David Weller<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ars.usda.gov\/people-locations\/person?person-id=35054\">Kathleen Parker<\/a> (USDA-ARS).\u00a0<!--more-->Daniella spent one month in the lab to learn laboratory techniques and skills in molecular plant pathology and also the scientific discipline of her special interest. \u00a0She also engaged in communication with all members in the lab through group and weekly lab meetings to advance her knowledge and experience in plant sciences.
