The online retailer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/information-technology\/2017\/06\/amazon-goes-big-into-brick-and-mortar-with-13-7-whole-foods-purchase\/\">purchased<\/a>\u00a0Whole Foods Market in June for $13.7 billion, announced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arstechnica.com\/information-technology\/2017\/07\/amazon-may-enter-the-meal-kit-market-pushing-blue-apron-further-to-the-edge\/\">new meal-prep boxes<\/a>\u00a0that challenge Blue Apron in July, and now it&#8217;s turning to the military for its next move. According to a CNBC\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2017\/08\/11\/amazon-looks-to-new-food-technology-for-home-delivery.html\">report<\/a>, Amazon wants to use\u00a0military food technology to create prepared meals that don&#8217;t need to be refrigerated.
