She earned her PhD in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Florida State University and completed postdoctoral training in the Pediatric and Developmental Neuroscience Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health. Dr. Thompson is a licensed speech-language pathologist whose research examines communication and language development in young children at risk for or with neurodevelopmental disorders and in individuals with complex communication needs. Dr. Thompson\u2019s program of research advances measurement and intervention approaches for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and complex communication needs.
