Mission
The ARCH Lab advances climate-adaptive, occupant-centered built environments through rigorous simulation-based and data-driven research. By generating evidence that spans building design, construction, and operation, we equip practitioners, policymakers, and communities with the tools to develop buildings that remain safe, healthy, and habitable under current and projected climate extremes. We attempt to contribute to a more resilient built environment at regional, national, and global scales
Research focus
The ARCH Lab investigates methods to advance the performance of buildings throughout their lifecycle including design, construction, and operation. ARCH Lab has dual focus on climate resilience and occupant health. Our work addresses the critical intersection of extreme climate events and indoor environmental quality, employing building performance simulation, data-driven operational analysis, and occupant-centric modeling.
