Welcome

CSEJ is a grassroots initiative that emerged out of dialogues among faculty working across disciplines on both the Vancouver and Pullman campuses of WSU. CSEJ’s first major event was a half day conference on civil liberties, with dozens of community partners including Portland Copwatch, Oregon ACLU, and the National Lawyers Guild, held in the wake of the backlash against the Muslim community. 

CSEJ stands for justice and dignity for all people with particular attention to advancing equity for BIPOC communities contending with systemic racism. CSEJ has long been the most diverse unit on the Vancouver campus.

This site is a resource to showcase members of CSEJ and the work scholarly and activist work they do in a variety of intersectional fields. CSEJ has a diverse membership doing work that includes scholarly research into topics related to social and environmental justice, as well as activists from the southwest Washington community.
