Welcome to Digital Media and Society Lab page. The research focus of this lab includes projects that study digital media in relation to both politics and health. Over the period of the last ten years, members of the lab have conducted research that examine a multitude of concepts and topics including information integrity, incivility, election campaigns, message effects, vaccine behavior, and substance misuse prevention. Methodologies include experiments, surveys, content analysis, in-depth interviews, and Virtual Reality lab experiments. Multiple projects from Digital Media and Society Lab have specifically studied marginalized populations such as refugees and examined dynamics at the intersection of gender and race.
