Our paper entitled “Towards Rechargeable Hydrogen Battery for Renewable Energy Storage” was published in Green Chemistry.

A highly efficient formate-piperidine-adduct (FPA) based hydrogen storage system was developed, which has shown superior reaction kinetics of both hydrogenation and dehydrogenation under mild operating conditions. Moreover, high-purity hydrogen, which is free of carbon monoxide and ammonia, was generated. By integrating this hydrogen storage system with renewable hydrogen, and polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFC), the on-demand cost-effective rechargeable hydrogen battery could be realized for storing renewable energy.
