My name is Antonio Franco, I attend Heritage University and I am a rising senior majoring in Biology and Environmental Science. I like to go hiking, fishing, camping, watch anime, go to the gym, and play video games. Mentor: Dr. Stephen Ficklin.

Project Title: Finding Genes and High Throughput Imagery Features Predictive of Resistance to Aphanomyces Root Rot.

 

 

Maicynn is a senior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign studying Crop Sciences. Outside of her interest in plants, she enjoys racquetball, basketball, and hiking. Mentor: Dr. Sindhuja Sankaran.

Project Title: Evaluation of Changes in Vegetation Indices Due to In-field Sensor Angles.

 

 

 

 

I am a computer science major, currently living in Seattle. I have a cat named Pandora, who really likes hair ties. I like to go fishing and like to do some paintings and drawings. Mentor: Dr. Ananth Kalyanaraman.

Project Title: Analyzing Data to Characterize Onion Decay.

 

 

 

My name is Robin Javid and I am excited to spend the summer learning about blueberry machine processing and its relationship with crop phenomics. I am majoring in Organic and Sustainable Agriculture with a minor in Spanish at Washington State University. I enjoy hiking, camping, gardening and meeting people from different cultures. Mentor: Dr. Lisa DeVetter.

Project Title: Evaluation of Blueberry Fruit Quality Using Standard and Modified Catch Plates.

 

Pia is a senior majoring in molecular biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to her interest in plant breeding, Pia enjoys painting, photography, and spending time outdoors. Mentor: Dr. Arron Carter.

Project Title: Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to Identify Metribuzin-tolerant Winter Wheat

 

 

 

I am a junior studying biological engineering at the University of Idaho. Through this opportunity, I am looking forward to learning about plant phenomics and breeding, and its impact on sustainability and food security. I enjoy longboarding, playing soccer with friends, and reading. Mentor: Dr. Mike Pumphrey.
