Jen Wisecaver

Associate Professor

I am an evolutionary biologist who loves staring at microbial eukaryotes, phylogenetic trees, and genomic data, be that single nucleotide polymorphisms, structural variation, gene expression, etc.

I received my PhD from the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona where I studied horizontal gene transfer in dinoflagellates. Following that I moved to Vanderbilt University where I was an NSF Plant Genome Research Program postdoctoral fellow studying the evolution and genome architecture of specialized metabolic pathways in plants and fungi.
