Agility Community

This section of the Agility Dog Health Network provides information and resources for all members of the agility community.

We are looking for agility handlers of all experience levels with all types of dogs to help us test a new web-based tool designed to measure the daily intensity of exercise and activity experienced by your dog. This study is funded by the American Kennel Club’s Canine Health Foundation. Click on this button to find out more and volunteer to help!

We have compiled a bibliography of peer-reviewed research publications related to canine agility. The bibliography includes sections on Injuries and Medical Problems, Exercise Science, and Behavior/Training/Human-Animal Bond. Each publication listed is hyperlinked to a site that has open access to a full text of the manuscript or to the abstract of the article if the full text is not available. Click on this button to access the bibliography!

We are anticipating another Virtual Journal Club via Zoom in the very near future. We will discuss the recent publication describing adverse health events related to participation in agility activities (infectious diseases and injuries) and agility handler reported priorities for agility dog health research. This journal club format is intended to provide a critical review of the strengths and limitations of this published research. The authors of this paper (members of the Agility Dog Health Network) will discuss the paper and you will have the opportunity to ask questions! We encourage you to access the full text of the paper via this link prior to the journal club session so you will be prepared to engage in the discussion! We will announce details including date and time on this web site and on our Facebook page. Please stay tuned! We hope to see you there!

This journal club event will be recorded and we will provide a link to the video on youtube so that you can review it later if you are unable to join us live!
