The Nutrition and Gut Microbiome Lab is Recruiting Participants

The Nutrition and Gut Microbiome Lab at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at WSU is studying the effects of quinoa on the gut microbiome. The gut microbiome plays an integral role in human health acting as an interface between the human digestive system and human physiology. Many chronic diseases are related to specific genotypic profiles in the gut microbiota, thus altering the gut microbiota with diet may affect our risk of diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular disease, colon cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
