Congratulations to Anastasia Chepel on receiving the Novice Researcher Award in the Molecular, Cellular, and Chemical Biology category at SURCA 2026 for her poster presentation, “Mapping the Global Human Microbiome: A Reproducible Analysis of Public Shotgun Metagenomic Data with a Focus on Crohn’s Disease.” This award honors students at any academic level who are new to the research process—typically those with two semesters or less of experience in their research area—and whose presentations receive excellent scores from the judges.
