Ruben Solorza will present a poster titled Silvicultural Interventions for Promoting Huckleberry Abundance and Fruit Productivity at the 2026 Society of American Foresters (SAF) Convention as part of the Silviculture Poster Symposium.
This research examines how fire, ecological conditions, and forest composition influence huckleberry abundance and fruit productivity. By integrating Indigenous knowledge with forest science, the study aims to identify silvicultural strategies that support culturally significant huckleberry resources while enhancing forest resilience.
The poster will be presented on October 7, 2026 from 1:00pm – 1:45pm PDT, in the Expo Hall at the SAF Convention.
