Our Team
The Smart and Green Infrastructure (SGI) research group at Washington State University consist of a multidisciplinary team with expertise in the following fields:
- Construction of smart cities and sustainable built environments: e.g., multifunctional coatings and admixtures, recycling and valorization of industrial byproducts and agro-wastes, permeable pavements, and nanotechnology for civil infrastructures
- Materials science for circular economy and for construction, preservation and resilience of transportation infrastructure
- Durable, sustainable, and smart pavements, e.g., multi-scale engineering and characterization, preservation and rehabilitation techniques, self-healing concrete, coatings, and functional layers
Our Goal
Our goal is to effect positive changes to industry and society through innovations and partnerships. To this end, we strive to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions and focus on impactful R&D.
