• Propose and conduct research on nonthermal food processing methods, to improve and acquire processed foods with fresh-like quality.
• Extend the shelf life of foods.
• Assess the potential energy savings and favorable economics associated with combining nonthermal processing methods with current commercial food preservation systems.
