
The AERA SIG Technology, Instruction, Cognition, and Learning (TICL AERA) invites authors of accepted presentations from the 2026 AERA Annual Meeting to submit their work for consideration in a special issue of Technology, Knowledge and Learning.
We welcome manuscripts that align with the TICL SIG’s focus on the relationships among technology, instruction, cognition, and learning across formal and informal educational contexts. Topics may include AI in education, AI literacy and computational thinking, human-AI collaboration, self-regulated learning, game-based learning, simulation/VR, digital and media literacy, technology-enhanced teaching and learning, learning analytics, multimedia design, and related areas.

Invited authors will be required to be members of the TICL SIG at the time of full manuscript invitation/submission.
Key dates:
• June 29: Intent to submit form due
• July 13: Invited authors notified
• August 31: Full manuscripts due
• December 2026: Anticipated publication of the special issue
