Roley Lab Watershed Biogeochemistry

switchgrass and stream

Welcome to the Roley Watershed Biogeochemistry Lab! We study nutrient transformations in freshwaters and the surrounding landscape. Right now, we are working on these specific projects:

  1. The ecological significance of nitrogen fixation in perennial grasses (Shawnee)
  2. The effect of overabundant riverine macrophyte growth on stream water quality (Aaron, Maryam)
  3. Water quality in Washington water bodies (Riley, Aaron, Vanessa)
  4. Nutrient dynamics and whole-stream metabolism (Vanessa, Aaron)
