Research Interests
I grew up in Taiwan and completed an undergraduate degree in Medicinal and Applied Chemistry at Kaohsiung Medical university. In 2017, I came to the U.S. to pursue my PhD degree in chemistry. With the highly interest in the structure biology, I am currently working on the coenzyme M biosynthesis project. In this project, I particularly study the protein structure as well as the enzyme activity of xcbC1 and xcbD1, which have been characterize as part of Aspartase/Fumerase superfamily, according to the bioinformatic analysis. We are excited about this project, since we found a unique pathway of coenzyme M synthesis in bacteria. Aside from the lab work, I like to watch movie, cook, and go fishing.
