During the lead up to Summer Heat, Columbia River Climate Action, Portland Rising Tide brought Bill McKibben to Clark College in Vancouver, WA to speak. The room was at capacity with over 400 people in attendance.
The next week, 1000 people protested coal, oil and gas terminals proposed on or near the Columbia River as part of the Summer Heat mobilization. The local action was organized by Portland Rising Tide in collaboration with 350.
