Hydrogen is believed to be the primary fuel for the future green economy. Our focus is primarily on high-energy-dense cryogenic hydrogen, where interesting quantum effects (para/ortho transitions) occur. We provide assistance to WSU HYPER Lab in developing hydrogen systems in collaboration with industry. Our contributions include CFD of cryogenic hydrogen, experiments at normal temperatures, and participation in designing and conducting cryogenic experiments. One of novel devices we are developing is a catalytic vortex tube that both cools hydrogen and accelerates para/ortho conversion. We have produced the first-in-the-world additively manufactured miniature vortex tube made of titanium.
