John Bussey

About me

My name is John Bussey and I am a freshman studying Materials Science and Engineering at Washington State University. I am also minoring in economics and chemistry (solid-state focus) as a Distinguished Regents Scholar within the Honors College. I am working at NOME with Dr. John McCloy after researching low-cost, easily producible glasses for lower education pedagogical applications with Brian Wright at Olympia High School. I am originally from Olympia, Washington, where I first fell in love with engineering looking at different bridge materials for my kindergarten science fair. I am hoping to continue pursuing research at the junction between ceramic and glass science and the development and application of sustainable and environmental technology. In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, mountaineering, skiing, ultimate frisbee, reading, and spending time with my family.
