July 28, 2017 – Jasmine Abrams (Eisenhower High School) joined in our lab, and then successfully completed her internship with the Upward Bound Program. This program is an STEM educational outreach program “Pumping Up the Math and Science Pipeline: Grade School to College” organized by Dr. David Weller and Kathleen Parker (USDA-ARS). Jasmine spent one month in the lab to learn lab techniques and skills in molecular plant pathology. She also engaged in communication with our lab members and attending our lab meetings to advance her scientific knowledge and experience. Special thanks to her mentor, Joey DeShields.
