October 24, 2019 – PI Tanaka received the Pacesetter Award from the WSU Office of Research for the work he’s done since being hired as a new faculty member in 2014. This award recognizes a promising WSU pre-tenure faculty member who has excelled in sponsored projects activity, taken the lead and set new standards of achievements. Tanaka has been the lead PI on funding totaling over $2.4 million through FY2019. During his time at WSU since 2014, he has published 30 articles and has been cited more than 850 times.
